In this week's vlog, I talk about how new moms have to practice self care differently and I offer 3 tips for making that transition with more ease and less stress.
As a woman in a bigger body, I know how hard it can be to muster up the courage to eat in public. People are constantly scrutinizing and placing value on us based on our food choices. We're a "good fatty" if we choose the salad and a "bad fatty" if we opt for dessert.
So much of our social interaction as human beings happens around food which means that if we feel anxious, nervous or scared to be in a setting where we're going to have to eat around people, we might choose to pass on that experience.
In this week's vlog, I share 3 tips for getting the courage to eat in public because, regardless of the size of our bodies, we have a right to live and to experience our lives to the fullest.
In this week's episode of Body Acceptance Made Easy, I offer prop and prop-free ways to practice this pose that maintain the integrity of the kundalini teachings. If you've ever wondered why your head can't reach the floor in this pose or why it doesn't feel as "restful" as everyone claims it is, this video is for you!
One of the biggest misconceptions out there about the practice of body positivity is that if you work hard enough at accepting yourself, one day you'll just wake up and love everything about you.
I've been on this path of self-love and acceptance for nearly a decade now and let me tell you, that couldn't be farther from the truth. Don't get me wrong — the majority of my experiences with my body are positive. I have way more love for myself now than I did ten years ago and the love just keeps growing. However, every now and then I have a slip up and when I do, I turn to my massive toolbox of tips and techniques to help me get back on path. The reality is, self-acceptance is a choice you make. Every day. Every hour. Every moment. Thanks to the society that we live in, constant judgement and criticism of our selves and our bodies is the norm which means it's easy and it comes naturally to us. The real work is to find and commit to a new way of being.
